I’m pleased to share festive digital oil painting, Bungalow in the Florida Keys, measuring 18 by 24 inches. This piece centers on a retro-style radio rendered in vivid colors that contrast sharply with the dark background. The radio’s metallic surface catches the light, highlighting a large central dial with a gradient from green to orange, flanked by two smaller dials that give it a subtle, almost human expression. A red handle and a fine antenna complete the composition, adding to the nostalgic feel. In front of the radio, a freshly sliced lime brings a burst of bright green and yellow, offering a lively counterpoint to the darker tones. Behind it, stylized palm leaves in deep greens and muted yellows suggest the tropical atmosphere that inspired the work. My connection to Florida, strengthened through time spent there with my husband, a native Floridian, motivated me to capture these quiet moments of relaxation and calm by the beach. Throughout the creation process, I focused on vivid detail and strong contrasts between light and shadow to bring a sense of dimension and warmth to the scene.
